Fully equipped to handle anything

The Clockmaker's Workshop is owned and run by master Clockmaker Michael Guiver who has had a life long passion for timepieces, antiques, mechanical music and the arts.
The business is  well equipped to handle repairs which can include anything from a basic service to a full overhaul or restoration to most types of clock.
The family run business also offers sales of antique clocks and other interesting items which can also include Oriental and Asian antique pottery and porcelain something which proprietor Michael Guiver has had a keen interest in having  studied at Ipswich School of Art.
Like all machinery they need regular maintenance if they are to continue telling the time and striking and chiming alike. It is nothing to be proud of if you can boast that your clock has been running for years without attention - it is likely to be wearing out!
With 39 years' experience in repairing and restoring clocks apprentice trained Michael Guiver  can accommodate most repairs - often including the replacement of missing or broken parts and worn out, missing or broken gears. With most antique clocks very little is available in the way of parts and so everything has to be made from raw materials using the traditional methods of craftsmen from long ago.

Restoration

We can also handle the restoration of both brass and painted dials. Cabinet repairs can also be undertaken - these are carried out by Stephen Gartland of Antique Renovations in Lavenham, who can be contacted on: 01787 248 511. Click here for the website.

We are happy to offer friendly advice to all. An idea of the cost of a repair can be given over the phone or alternatively you may email a picture or two of your clock for an idea of cost. After this stage we then offer a written estimate before commencing with repairs.

We are also happy to call and see you in your own home. We also offer a setting up after removals service.

As most repairs must be carried out in our workshop we are happy to collect and deliver your clock back to you when finished or you are welcome to call at our premises 15 Charles Wood Road, Rashes Green Industrial Estate, Dereham.

Once your clock has been overhauled by us we can offer a routine maintenance service carried out on a regular basis - this is important if your clock is to keep functioning trouble-free for years.

All repairs are guaranteed for 12 months.
