The images below are showing the restoration of a late 18th Century fusee verge striking bracket clock by Watkins, Snow Hill, London . The work involved a complete repair including dial, movement, and case. This beautiful clock features an engraved back-plate often found in these types of clock. Previous careless repairs (not by our clockmakers) had to be corrected by re-fitting the bushes correctly to the back-plate. Also necessary was the re-bushing of one of the mainspring barrels and the making of a new stud for the strike work. Much work had to be done and once the dial had been re-silvered and the case repaired by Antique Renovations (with whom we co-work), the clock was restored to its former glory and delivered back to its proud owners.
